Odie was my sister’s beloved dog. A Rhodesian Ridgeback who adored my sister and was a real character. She found Odie running wild in her local woods and adopted him and loved him beyond words. She was devasted when at the ripe old age of 12/13 he crossed the rainbow bridge and left a big space behind. I was unsure about doing this portrait as I knew how much my sister missed him and did not wish to remind her of his absence. However for her recent 40th birthday I decided that perhaps enough time had passed for the rawness to have subsided and have taken the plunge and will be giving this portrait to her as a surprise.
