Whenever I am asked to draw animals that sadly are no longer with us I always feel that capturing their character as well as a good likeness is doubly important. Tara was a beautiful gentle dog ; I had to work from a very small photograph as that was the only one my client had but hopefully I have captured enough of the essence of her gentle nature in this portrait.
