Eleven years ago after a long break of not really drawing very much due to family and other work commitments, I was asked to draw a portrait by my now Mother-in-Law, as an 80th birthday present to give to her husband. (Now my father-in-Law!) I was somewhat nervous of getting it right as I knew the subject was very particular about his appearance in photographs. However it was well received and in view of the fact that the portrait is hanging in their sitting room I think the man himself, affectionately known as The Chief, must have approved! The photograph is rather dark as I had trouble with light glare on the glass so had to use filters. The Chief will be 91 years young this Summer.
